Steelseries stratus xl windows 7 keeps downloading drivers

This is what worked for me with Windows Firstly, you need to allow this application through the firewall - go to your firewall settings and add the Steeworks software as an app that is allowed private and public access tick both boxes. The software should now detect it. You can now use it as is , albeit connected via the cable. To get it to be recognised via blue tooth, do a firmware upgrade - this can be done via the steelworks software.

Once the firmware upgrade is done, disconnect and restart the software. Connect it to windows 10 using bluetooth discovery. You should now have a fully functioning Bluetooth controller. Why they don't explain these issues or make it known in one place in their forums or documentation is beyond me. I'm running a cheap USB bluetooth dongle btw.

This took me about 10 hours to sort out. Whilst it was annoying, the controller is a very nice product and works well if you persevere. Originally posted by gordon farkas :. Not only that there seemed to be some confusion in either the controllers firmware or the software, because when I used the left stick it acted like I was hammering the right trigger to, so when I walked and strafed in every game I was firing my gun constantly even when the only part opf the controller I was touching was the left analogue stick.

I RMA'd the controller at the store I purchased it from, and got a new one. Am I just the unluckiest person on earth and keep getting shoddy merchandise that shouldn't have passed through their QC, or is this an issue with the Bluettoth adapter, Controller firmware, the steelseries engine 3, or tha fact that I am on Windows 7 and not Windows 10?

What are the odds of RMAing a faulty controller and getting another faulty controller with what looks like the exact same faullt and not being able to get a result googling the exact fault?! It's a capable dual-purpose controller that can fill a unique niche for some gamers. The Stratus XL looks and feels like a home console controller, measuring 4. Start, Back, and Menu buttons sit between the analog sticks, and there's a four-LED indicator light strip above it. The gamepad features left and right triggers and buttons on the top, with pairing and battery status buttons positioned between them and out of the way of your index fingers.

The power switch sits below the battery compartment on the back, which holds two AA batteries and a micro USB port for updating the gamepad's firmware. If you want to see a result that long, be sure to turn the controller off when not in use.

It doesn't have a noticeable automatic sleep function, and accidentally leaving the switch on cut play time significantly in our tests. The SteelSeries Stratus XL for Windows and Android is a major contender for those looking for a seriously good quality controller that isn't a Microsoft controller. It has the advantage of being compatible with Android devices and is wireless via Bluetooth out the box. Click the Update Driver button next to your driver.

The correct version will be downloaded and installed automatically. Or, you can click the Update Drivers button at the bottom to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out-of-date on your system.

If you cannot find the right driver for your device, you can request the driver. We will find it for you. Or, try the automatic option instead. It is software which finds, downloads and istalls the correct driver for you - automatically.
